DisCouRSE at RSECon26
We’re excited to see members of the DisCouRSE Network involved in a range of activities at RSECon26, the annual conference of the Society of Research Software Engineering, including:

RSE Leaders & Aspiring Leaders Meeting: DisCouRSE is co-organising this satellite event with the RSE Leaders Network SIG. It will bring current and aspiring leaders in research software engineering together to connect, share experiences, and discuss the future of the field. The meeting will feature lightning talks and interactive sessions designed to support aspiring leaders with career progression. DisCouRSE breakout sessions will cover COMPASS, DIRECT, and matchmaking for Round 3 project proposals.

Leadership and environmental sustainability: DisCouRSE co-lead Kirsty Pringle will join the Debunking RSE Leadership panel, deliver a keynote on Environmental Sustainability and Advocacy, and contribute to the related Birds of a Feather session, “It’s not easy being green”: embedding environmental sustainability in training material, exploring how sustainability can be embedded into RSE training.

dRTP leadership: DisCouRSE lead Jonathan Cooper will present findings from the Network’s dRTP group leader interview study.

Research Data Scientists: Round 1 project lead Kamilla Kopec-Harding is co-organising the RDSci Connect satellite event.

Coding Confessions: Dave Horsfall and Jonathan Cooper will contribute to the Coding Confessions session.

Round 1 projects: DisCouRSE-funded projects will feature in talks and posters, including A pitch for sustainable career pathways for dRTPs, From reinventing the wheel to building bicycles, and A Community-Owned Database Mapping dRTP Roles, Skills, and Training.
